Hello!
This is version 3.3 of FOLD-and-PRINT. This program allows printing an ASCII
text in multi-column fashion on (probably) any line printer. Odd, even,
selected pages can be printed and user defined headers/footers can be used.
Line breaking, truncating, breaking with word wrap is possible. You can
prepare printouts to be used in a binder. Many other features are possible
and are described in the manual.
New in this release is the experimental Text UNFormatter: a utility to remove
page breaks, headers, and footers from the already-formatted-to-printing ASCII
texts. Unformatted text can be printed with FOLD-and-PRINT easily. Please
have a look at TUNF.DOC for details.
All necessary information on using and configuring FOLD-and-PRINT are included
in the manual file FOLD.DOC. Some less important information are in the
appendix FOLDADD.DOC. Please read the manual before you start using this
software.
If you hate very much reading manuals run 'FOLD -? | MORE' for the help
screen. Please note however that the help screen will not tell you how to
configure FOLD-and-PRINT for your printer, and you will have to configure
FOLD-and-PRINT, if you printer is not ESC/P compatible (ie. cannot emulate
some Epson printers).
The package should contain the following files:
FOLD.EXE the FOLD-and-PRINT itself
FOLD.DOC the manual, read if you are new to FOLD-and-PRINT
FOLDADD.DOC the addendum to the manual
TUNF.EXE the experimental Text UNFormatter, see TUNF.DOC
TUNF.DOC the short TUNF manual
DEFAULT.P the default configuration file (a copy of SMALL.P)
DENSE.P cfg file for ESC/P or IBM printers (condensed pitch)
SMALL.P cfg file for ESC/P printers (condensed Elite pitch)
TINY.P cfg file for ESC/P printers (as above, script size)
PLAIN.P cfg file for reformatting ASCII texts (no prn codes)

If you distribute FOLD-and-PRINT, please don't change the original archive
contents.
If you are familiar with version 3.x, see FOLDADD.DOC for a list of changes
(see subsection entitled 'VERSION 3.3').
This program is free, but if you like it and use it, you are *strongly*
encouraged to send me some money or something. See FOLDADD.DOC for details.
PS. Here you have what the users wrote about earlier versions of this program:
I downloaded Fold-and-Print Version 3.1 from a local BBS last
night. It looks GREAT!
I've just been playing with your fold program (v3.1) and I thought
I just drop you a line to say that I am impressed. I shall be
recommending your program to collegues, too.
...an excellent program - especially with the -x option. (...) I
shall be making heavy use of this program.
I have downloaded your program fold30.zip from
WSMR-SIMTEL20.Army.Mil and I was surprised how good it works!
...I had just unzipped the file and I printed the fold.doc with my
old IBM Proprinter. It is unbeliveable how easy it works (...) now
I want to give this program to other friends...
...I'm using the program regularly, and it has lived up to my
highest expectations.
...I think that your Fold N' Print program is excellent.
